The choice depends on the pipe diameter.
Hot-melt injection molding pipe fittings are suitable for pipe diameters not less than De110. No sleeve fitting is required during butt welding. The principle of hot-melt connection is to press the mating surfaces of two PE pipes tightly against a heating tool to heat their flat ends until they melt. After removing the heating tool, the two molten ends are pressed together and held under pressure until the joint cools, thus connecting the two pipe sections into a single unit.
Electrofusion injection molding pipe fittings are suitable for pipe diameters less than De110. Electrofusion fittings are plastic (polyethylene) pipe fittings that can be connected by melting using the temperature generated by an electric current. Capacity (amperes) is the main parameter. In some low-voltage circuits, where voltage requirements are not high, only the amperes are specified.
