The nominal pressure of a PE ball valve is like its 'identity card rating,' representing the valve's pressure-bearing capacity at room temperature. Common specifications include three main ranges: 0.6MPa, 1.0MPa, and 1.6MPa. This value is usually engraved on the valve body surface. It's important to note that in actual use, the allowable working pressure may be 10%-15% lower than the nominal pressure due to the influence of the medium temperature.

 

Three Essential Elements for Pressure Test Preparation:

Medium Selection: Clean water is recommended, with a temperature range of 5-40℃.

Equipment Inspection: The pressure gauge accuracy should be no less than 1.6 grade, and the range should be 1.5-2 times the test pressure.

Valve Status: Before testing, the valve should be in a half-open position to ensure that all air is completely expelled from the cavity.

 

Golden Rules for Testing Operation:
First, conduct a strength test at 1.5 times the nominal pressure, holding the pressure for at least 3 minutes; then, perform a sealing test at 1.1 times the nominal pressure. Pay close attention to whether the valve body is deformed or leaking, and whether continuous water droplets appear on the valve seat sealing surface. After testing, remember to drain any accumulated water to prevent the valve body from freezing and cracking at low temperatures.
